The Rarerotation Podcast Series

It's a new year and a new episode for great music. This is our first episode for our "Covered Classics" series. We definitely know you'll enjoy with songs from Erykah Badu, Curtis Mayfield, as well as The Ohio Players, it definitely looks like it is going to be a good year.

It's a new year and we must say that we are sorry for having you all wait a few extra days for this one. Some artist featured in episode six include: Dave Grusin, Lupe Fiasco, and The Charmells. If only a couple of the names sound familiar, still listen to the podcast, cause it will amaze you.

The end of the year and our fifth episode. In this episode we play a one-year anniversary since his death to the most sampled artist and God Father of Soul and Funk, Mr. James Brown. Two of the best hip-hop mcs ever also made the list Nas and Common, as well as a nice smooth track from the ladies of Destiny's Child.

Funk and Jazz played a major role in this episode. We played great sampled tracks from Les McCann, Willie Hutch, and Lou Donaldson. And brought you one of the most famous songs from one of the greatest producers in hip-hop, Dr. Dre. We definitely know you'll enjoy this show.

As we start to really start to enjoy the musical selections we bring to you, we did some heavy research on this episode. The King of Pop, Michael Jackson made the list tonight, as well as one of my all-time favorite hip-hop songs from The Pharcyde. The barbarian queen herself Grace Jones also made the list. This episode you are sure to enjoy.

For our second episode, I personally wanted to do a "Six Degrees of Kanye" since Kanye's mother had just recently pasted. So in this show you'll hear some tracks produced from Kanye. and a bunch of R&B joints that will definitely put you in the mood. Curtis Mayfield, Bobby "Blue" Bland, and Luther Vandross are just a few that made the list.

This is our first podcast and we are definitely proud to present it to you loyal listeners. We start it off with one of the great R&B artist of all-time Marvin Gaye. During the show we play some classic hip-hop from the Native Tongue family, as well as original sampled jazz songs from the likes of Stanley Turrentine.
